NICKMERCS and SypherPK Win Keemstar’s Friday Fortnite Tournament…On a PS4!

Fortnite popularity is reaching a new high! Keemstar threw a tournament for the game Friday name. A contest based on a unique set of skills instead of head to head play. UMG, along with Keemstar, hosted the tournament with a Grand Prize of $5,000.

The rules aren’t your typical rundown of a game of Fortnite: Battle Royale. It’s not even PvP. The match consists of the 4 players set within the same match, but not against one another. In fact, the goal is for the opposing teams to not interact with each other. Instead, the endgame is to get as many kills as possible!

Racking up kills isn’t easy in Fortnite. But the best players get it done, and end up with numbers higher than 40 sometimes. Players like Ninja and NICKMERCS have all held the record for highest kills at some point. Making them the first killer players in Epic Games’ phenom known as Battle Royale. Streamers are leaving more conventional and typical first person shooters by the droves to come to this game. It’s a great time to be a player.

And the winner is…

Not too shabby for a game just coming out of the woodwork. So it’s no surprise that quite a few notable players and streamers were at the event including Logan Paul and GreekGod.

Oh yeah, and NICKMERCS.

NICKMERCS is a famous PS4 Streamer who played alongside SypherPK. After dropping to the loser racket before coming back to face NoahJ456 and Avxry in the finale. After 2 sets the boys had their win, and NICKMERCS and SypherPK took home the $5,000.

Here he is thanking his teammate.

One of the most important details about NICKMERCS’ win is the system on which it came…This guy took out PC players on a PS4. Playing on PC or Console is a huge issue in Fortnite: Battle Royale. Most everyone agrees that PC is, BY FAR, the more competitive system thanks to the mouse. Folks, NICKMERCS has something to say to you PC believers out there:

#ConsoleGang

It’s a remarkable win that solidifies NICKMERCS, and his good ole partner, as two of the most talented and skilled gamers out there. Thanks in part to streamers like those that were in this tournament, Fortnite’s popularity is skyrocketing. This is just the beginning of its eSports potential. NICKMERCS and SypherPK are just some of the first rising stars of this brand new world.
