As you probably know, Fortnite update 4.2 took place just earlier this morning. A few fans who just could not wait have datamined some interesting changes. The update contained some gameplay changes and a new burst assault rifle. Maybe this one will be good enough to use. The update also contained a few things on the backend, as is usual for Epic’s updates. These include some new skins, pickaxes, and bling. Shout out to @TwoEpicBuddies for the hard work!
As shown in the image above, we have 5 new skins, 4 new pickaxes, 3 backbling, and two gliders.
The first new skin looks like some sort of sea monster. An evolution of the Leviathan skin? Possibly. Probably. The second skin looks like a new hero. It’s very steampunk. He almost looks to me like a smarter version of one of the sand people from Star Wars. One of the new pickaxes should have been a gaffi stick. The next two skins are hazmat suits. These are the guys that set up the facility in Dusty Divot, no doubt. The last skin looks like Sargeant Johnson meets Vietnam. He’s just missing his trademark cigar.
It’s fairly obvious how most of the other items fit into the picture. The first two backbling (are those leaf blowers?) go to the corresponding hazmat skin. The third, a scuba tank, has to go with the sea-monster, right? Is it filled with water, though?
The pickaxes are a bit less straightforward. We have a stop sign turned battle-ax, a jackhammer, a swoopy thing (maybe a bicycle seat?), and a film camera. Now if it were me, I’d give the stop sign to Sargeant Johnson, the jackhammer to the radiation wary researchers, the swoop (bicycle seat?) to the sand person, leaving the camera for the monster. The only way he can express himself is through art, ok?
Now while these skins were found in the data neither makes them official nor does it mean they’ll be immediately available, but I’d be surprised if we didn’t see all this fairly soon. This is Travis at Launch Pad Gaming! See ya on the ground!
