Travis Mccrackin / May 4
Ok, Fortnite fans, the new season is here and it is awesome. Hop rocks, new skins, secret lairs, and craters! What more could you ask for? We here at Launch Pad Gaming are working hard to keep you up to date on all things Fortnite. Not that we need any more excuses to play! I’m Travis, a.k.a Squirlz4Office, and today we’re going to take a look at the Fortnite season 4 map changes. See you on the ground!
The meteor has landed folks. With its landing come the most apparent Fortnite season 4 map changes. The craters left by its impact now dot the island. The most prominent of these is the huge hole in the center of the map that used to be known as “Dusty Depot”, now known as…
That’s right! Dusty Depot is no more. In its place now stands a rather large hole in the ground known as Dusty Divot. This crater comes complete with all the hop rocks you can eat (at least I hope that’s what the creators mean by consume) and an on-site research facility spanning the bottom. Have a look!
Before we even got to enjoy it in its entirety, Rusty Reels was struck by a piece of the meteor. This drive-in theater is a neat addition and one of a few that is centered around movie production this season.
Tilted Towers still stands! It did not make it out unscathed, though. Where the three-story building towards the center once stood is now a crater.
Did you enjoy landing at the Prison? Well, I hope you like big holes in the ground. If you don’t, I’ve got some bad news.
The Motel hasn’t changed much. The bus that was in the parking lot has decided to nap on the motel itself, and there is a hole in the sign. Plus one small crater!
There are a few other craters in unnamed areas that have appeared on the map. They are located South of Haunted Hills, East of Junk Junction, East of Retail Row, and to the East of Fatal Fields. You can find Hop Rocks at all of them! Consume them and defy gravity!
Heroes being the theme of the season, it’s no wonder that they would have a secret hideout… And you can’t very well have heroes without villains of some sort, so it follows that they would have a base of operations too.
Just Southeast of Lonely Lodge there lies a mansion where last season was an empty map, and this mansion has a secret. For those who venture down the stairs, there is a secret hideout complete with cliffside exit.
In the side of a mountain close to Snobby Shores is a secret lair for evil. At least that’s what I assume, as I doubt the heroes would need a nuke… Setup for season 5?
There were a couple more additions this season…
A movie set has taken over a corner of Moisty Mire…
Just outside Junky Junction lies another movie set. I think a theme is developing here…
There were also some big rocks thrown up by the meteor’s impact that you can’t break. They’re great for cover!
That’s it for the Fortnite season 4 map changes! This is Travis here at Launch Pad Gaming, saying see ya on the battlefield!
