Unless you live under a rock, you’re probably aware that Thanos is currently ruling the Box Office. Marvel has created a phenomenon that has culminated in one of the most successful films ever. The Marvel Cinematic Universe created hours and hours of fun for millions of fans around the world. So it makes sense that Epic Games would team with them to add a little spice to Battle Royale.
The studio announced today that there will be an EPIC cross-over between Fortnite and Marvel Studios! Unfortunately, before you get too excited there won’t be any Black Panther or Captain America Skins anytime soon. Maybe one day. But players will be able to become one of the most famous Marvel characters of all time.
That’s right, players will now be able to find the Infinity Gauntlet somewhere on the map and use it to literally become Thanos. Somehow, the players will then be imbued with all of the powers it possesses.
How exactly is that going to work? Nobody knows except the folks at Epic. Here’s the announcement from their Twitter account.

Not much to go on there. Though Epic did elaborate to say there will be no new skins. So expect this to be the extent of the ambitious cross-over.
The Infinity Gauntlet should have the power to create, destroy, warp time, warp reality, warp emotion and even more. Theoretically, there’s nothing the Gauntlet can’t do. So just how that will play into the world of Battle Royale is INSANE. The implications that a player could suddenly be affected time and space within a match is just plain awesome. To keep the player from being invincible, it’s likely that most of the extreme powers of the Gauntlet won’t really exist.
So no, you probably won’t be able to wish players out of existence with a single snap.
But the player will likely be able to slow other players movements. Thanos will probably be able to jump long distances like players infused with the recently-added Hop Rocks. He will probably possess some form of close-range weapon as well as a long-range weapon.
Or the Gauntlet won’t be replacing weapons at all. It seems likely that the player would have the gauntlet in one hand and a gun in the other. That way Thanos uses the Gauntlet to build or alter the map rather than to kill other players.
However it works, let’s hope the “Limited Time” lasts long enough to give most players a chance at winning the Gauntlet. Thanos displayed his awesome, cataclysmic powers when he was decimating The Avengers in Infinity War. Looks like players will be wreaking just as much havoc across the world of Fornite.
